Tonya J. Pontillo, 67, of Cloverdale, Indiana, passed away on December 23, 2025. She was born on July 25, 1958, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to the late Herschel Barger and JoAnn (Ramsey) Barger.
Tonya was a true spitfire—outgoing, spunky, and full of life. She had a strong personality, a quick wit, and a presence that could light up any room. Those who knew her best will remember her for her bold spirit, her honesty, and the fierce love she had for her family.
She is survived by her four children: Michael Witt, Clint Witt and his wife Shelly, Jesse Witt, and Tasha Witt. She is also survived by her lifelong partner Douglas Pontillo. She was a proud grandmother and great-grandmother to many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense joy.
Also surviving are her siblings, Yochana Lee Monnett and her husband Dale, and Kenny Barger and his wife Carolyn, along with extended family and friends who will deeply miss her.
Tonya was preceded in death by her parents, Herschel and JoAnn Barger.
Her family will forever cherish the memories of her strength, laughter, and unforgettable personality. Cremation was entrusted to Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale. Private family services will be held at a later date.
