Shirley Ann Trump, 79, passed away peacefully at home on Monday,
December 8, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones. A woman of deep
compassion, resilience, and faith, Shirley lived a life devoted to her
family, her community, and her beliefs. Her love for those around her
was steadfast, and her legacy will live on through the countless lives
she touched.
Born in Cedar Bluff, Virginia, on June 19, 1946, Shirley was the
daughter of Jesse James Shrader and Rose Ann (Whitt) Shrader. She
was one of ten siblings, and at the age of two, her family relocated to
Indiana, where she would spend the rest of her life.
As a young adult, Shirley committed her life to Christ, and her faith
remained the cornerstone of her existence. She devoted many years to teaching
Sunday School, guiding others with her unwavering belief.
While she held various jobs in factories and banking throughout her
life, her greatest joy was found in raising her children with love and
dedication. She was also deeply proud of her role as a grandmother and
great-grandmother.
Shirley was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 53 years,
Vinton Trump, as well as her siblings Fred Elwood Shrader, Joseph
Shrader, Clarence Vernon Shrader, Betty Lou Schwomeyer, and
Douglas Wayne Shrader, and her brother-in-law Steven Ellis Trump.
She is survived by her children, Lex Trump and Ginny Schmalix, her
grandson Matthew Honeycutt, and her great-grandchildren, Nahla and
Dakota. Shirley is also remembered by her surviving siblings: Lois Gay
Calvert, Alvie Richard Shrader, Howard Jessie Shrader, Norma Jean
Fouquet, her brother-in-law Michael Garrison, and sister-in-law Eva
Robinson.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Whitaker Funeral Home,
