Lois Marie (Black) Arnold

Lois Marie Black-Arnold, age 86 of Gosport, passed away peacefully Saturday, February 15th, 2025 surrounded by her family.  She was born December 2nd, 1938 in Bloomington beside the rail road tracks to the late Lawrence A. and Goldie R. (Stephens)Black.  She married Venice L. Arnold March 15th, 1958 and he preceded her in death.  She did various things over her life working in banking, Food Service at IU, and owned her own laundromat.  She loved her church family and attended Friendly Christian Tabernacle.  She loved being with her family and attending her many grandkids events. 

She is survived by her children Clark Arnold(Melissa), of Freedom, V. Scott Arnold(Mary) of Freedom, Kevin Arnold of Freedom, and Becky Roberts(Michael) of Indianapolis.  She also raised her two grandchildren Clark Arnold Jr.(Jessica) of Gosport, and Kaitlyn Arnold(Alex) of Bloomington.  She had fourteen grandchildren, and fifteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great due in May.  Siblings Kathryn James, Dewayne Black, John Black, and Doris Gholson.  In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by her siblings Ruth Elkins, Annice Sears, Ancel Black, Leon Black, and her son in law Billy Roberts.

Funeral Services for Lois will be held Tuesday, February 18th, 2025 at 2:00pm.  Visitation will be held from 12:00pm Noon to 2:00pm.  Burial will follow at Mannan Cemetery.  Condolences may be made at www.whitakerfunerals.net.
