Jerald T. Monds

Jerald Thomas Monds, 86, of Greencastle, Indiana passed away peacefully on August 19th, 2024. Jerald was born January 12th, 1938 to George and Clara Monds in Lynch, Kentucky. He attended Somerset High School where he competed in boxing, basketball, and football. Oh, the stories he could tell! He graduated in 1957. After graduation, Jerald came to Indiana to find a good job. He found one alright at Ford Motor Company in Indianapolis where he worked for 39 years and then retired. In 1958, Jerald met Alice Frances Walden and they got married June 2, 1958. Together they had 4 children: Kim (Tony Arnold), Jody (Greg Crum), David (Marilyn), Charlie (Karen). They had 8 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Jerald was preceded in death by his parents and a grandchild. Jerald was an avid reader of Louis L’Amour and Zane Grey books. He read every book in his extensive collection at least twice. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting for mushrooms, bow hunting for deer, karaoke singing, and studying the Word of God. Jerald accepted the Lord into his life in 1978 and became a licensed preacher shortly thereafter. He is with his Savior today.

Services will be held at Whitaker Funeral Home in Cloverdale, Indiana of Friday, August 23, 2024. Visitation will be from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm. Graveside service immediately following at the Cloverdale Cemetery.
