Jamie A. Monnett

Jamie A. Monnett, age 58, of Plainfield, passed away May 17, 2026. She was born in Greencastle to the late Melvin L. and Nancy (Irick) Monnett.

Jamie was a devoted mother and beloved Memaw whose warmth touched everyone around her. Her grandchildren Melea, Anniston, and Asher were the absolute light of her life, and her love for them was boundless.

Those who were fortunate enough to know Jamie quickly discovered her remarkable green thumb, a gift she shared generously with the world around her. In her spare time, she found joy in the open road aboard her Harley, snuggling her cherished animals, and expressing her vibrant creative spirit.  Even in her one-of-a-kind taste in food.  Jamie had a way of making every moment feel alive. To know her was simply to love her.

She is survived by her son, Mitch Berry; daughter, Kayla Vail and husband Chris; and three grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, Brenda Mowery and husband Chuck, and Tina Monnett-Dever and husband Matt, along with many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at New Hope Fellowship Church, 2450 N US Hwy 231, Greencastle, IN 46135 from 10:00am until 12:00pm, Saturday, May 30th, 2026 with a Celebration of Life following visitation at noon. Condolences may be made at www.whitakerfunerals.net.
