James (Jim) Raymond Wiesneth, Sr., age 75 of Eminence, Indiana, passed away on June 26,
2023. His family was at his side. Jim was born on November 29, 1947, in Aurora, Illinois to
Franklin and Dorothy (Hoffman) Wiesneth.
Jim graduated from Glenbard West High School in Glen Ellyn, Illinois in 1965. He began his
career with Indianapolis Drywall Supply in Indianapolis, Indiana. In 2004, he retired from
Wabash Valley Supply in Terre Haute, Indiana, where he was manager for more than thirty
years.
Jim married Georgene L. (Seidl) Wiesneth on July 2, 1966, and she survives. In addition to his
wife, he is survived by his two sons, James Raymond (Rebecca) Wiesneth, Jr. of Terre Haute
and Adam Troy Wiesneth (Stefanie Brown, companion) of Greencastle, and four grandchildren -
Madelynn, Andrew, Addison, and Skyla Wiesneth. Jim is also survived by four siblings - Carol
(Ray) Swan, Janet Schmitt, Scott Schmitt, and Kalvin (Michelle) Boewe.
He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son - Dennis William Wiesneth, and his
brother - Franklin John Wiesneth.
Jim was an avid elk and deer hunter, conservationist, and outdoorsman. He enjoyed traveling
out west to Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, and Wyoming on hunting excursions and family
vacations. Jim firmly believed in leaving the environment better than he found it. He
tremendously loved his family and will be greatly missed.
Visitation for Jim will be from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Thursday, July 6, 2023, at Whitaker
Funeral Home (201 N. Lafayette St.) in Cloverdale, Indiana. The funeral service is tentatively
set to follow the visitation at 7:00 PM. Condolences may be made at
