James "Jim" Hunsicker

James “Jim” Hunsicker, 65, of Gosport, Indiana, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2026. Jim was the son of Jessie “Jewel” and Walter Hunsicker.

Jim lived a life defined by his passions that included the love of the outdoors, nature, and the simple pleasures in life. He was a resourceful and skilled builder who could often be seen working around the log cabin he built himself. He worked hard, loved fiercely, and endured all obstacles placed in his path, which defines the legacy he leaves for all of us.

Jim is survived by his son, Raymond Hunsicker; grandson, Ericson James Mann; siblings, Maria (John) Arnold, Kathy (Hank) Liszewski, Karen Hunsicker, Virgil Hunsicker, Mike (Retha) Hunsicker; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings Lucille White, Daniel Hunsicker, John Hunsicker, and infant sister Viola Diane Hunsicker; and nephews Nicholas and Taylor Hunsicker.

All who knew and loved Jim are welcome to come and share their favorite memories with the family. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at Whitaker’s Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Wilkinson-Nees Cemetery in Poland, Indiana.  Condolences may be made at www.whitakerfunerals.net.
