Fred Pearl Partin, age 94 of Plainfield, formerly of Cloverdale Indiana, went to be with the Lord November 14th, 2025. He was born December 23rd, 1930, in Bond Kentucky to the late Pearl and Maggie Partin. Fred was married to Dorothy “Marie” Partin on July 28th, 1950.
Fred was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and Christian. He attended classes at Indiana Bible College and was ordained as a minister in 1974. He had a passion for missions and working with missionaries. He served as church deacon for many years, and was pastor of the Orleans Baptist Church in Orleans Indiana in the middle 1980’s.
Aside from his family, he had two passions in life: his love for Jesus and his love for golf. Over the years he took many opportunities to share his faith with others, and he never missed an opportunity to get onto the links to play his favorite game.
Fred was one of 12 children all of whom preceded him in death along with his parents. He was also preceded in death by his beloved wife Marie, as well as his son William Alan Partin and great grandson Cory Partin. He is survived by his sons Barry (Rose) Partin, Michael (Ruth) Partin, John (Angie) Partin, daughter Mary (John) Simpson, and daughter in law Patricia (Alan) Partin-Rodger (Flynn). He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 4 great, great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
Funeral service for Fred will be held at 11:30am, Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale. Visitation will be held from 10:00am until service time. Burial will follow at Combes Cemetery, Quincy.
