Everette E. Allen

Everette Eugene Allen Jr. passed away peacefully on January 16, 2025. 

Everette was born on July 22, 1942, in Putnam County to Everette Eugene Sr. Allen and Clara "Alice" Allen (Lunsford). He spent most of his life in the county of his birth and had deep ties to his roots in the area. 

Everette lived quietly and kindly, unafraid of hard work or a good laugh, and always as true to right as he could. He treasured the outdoors of his childhood home and the moments spent there with his family. He was a devoted husband and father and a loving grandfather. He would go out of his way to offer a helping hand whenever he came across anyone in need, and he often quoted, “Walk a mile in my shoes before you criticize and abuse.” He is very missed.

Everette is survived by his daughters, Dianna Allen and Marcia Bridgewater; his granddaughters, Stevie Bridgewater, Frances Hubbs and husband James, and Rosemary Foster and wife Jess; his great-granddaughter, Violet Stanger-Foster and his great-grandson Everett Hubbs; his cousins Ronnie Allen, Bret Lunsford and wife Tina, Madonna Goss, and Gladys Olds; his sister-in-law Jennie Allen; and his nephew, David Allen.

Among family who preceded him in death are his parents; his brother, Donald Allen; and his cousin, Gene Lunsford.  Cremation was entrusted to Whitaker Funeral Home, and services will be private.
