Dennis E. Cummings

               Dennis E. Cummings, age 90 of Cloverdale passed away September 15th, 2022.  He was born November 22, 1931 in Cloverdale Twp. to the late Lawrence and Edna (Routt)Cummings.  He married Mary Ellen (Cox)Cummings September 29th, 1951 and she preceded him in death June 20th, 2013.  He served his country during Korea in the United States Army.  He retired from WABCO and then continued working for the Cloverdale Community Schools and First National Bank for many years. 

                He is survived by his children Sandy Kennedy and husband Richard, Karen Benell and husband Steve, Tim Cummings and wife Barbara.  Grandchildren Kim(Tom) Conolly, Ashley(Brian) Walden, Nicole(Keith) Thornburgh, Holly(Damon) Howard, Dustin(Bailey) Cummings, Brandon(Emily) Moon, and Annette Benell, son in law Tony Osborne, and thirteen great-grandchildren.  Siblings Faye Gaddis, Shirley Brewer and husband Frosty, Sharon Mannan and husband Eddie.  In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by his daughter Brenda Osborn, and siblings Ted Cummings, Bob Cummings, Audra Vickroy, and Betty Monnett.  The family would like to give a special thank you to Beth Gillenwater.

                Funeral Services for Dennis will be held Tuesday, September 20th, 2022 at 11:00am, Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale.  Visitation will be held Monday, September 19th, 2022 from 4:00pm until 7:00pm.  Burial will follow in the Cloverdale Cemetery.  Condolences may be made at www.whitakerfuneralhome.net.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
