Dean Duane Knoy

Dean Duane Knoy, 63, of Cloverdale, Indiana, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 5, 2026. He was at home with family by his side. Dean was diagnosed with esophageal cancer last September which was caused by acid reflux.

Dean loved to tinker with tractors, lawnmowers and trucks. At home he was known as Mr. Fix it.

His pride and joy was his 40-20 John Deere.

Dean was employed at INDOT for 41 years, where he was still working when he was diagnosed with cancer.

Dean grew up showing steers at Morgan Co. fair and was later Putnam Co. 4-H Horse and Pony Color guard coach, which he thoroughly enjoyed. He served in the Army National Guard for 16 years.

Dean was born in Morgan Co. to Duane and Gloria (McCullogh) Knoy on May 16th, 1963. On April 6th, 1985 he married Linda (Saucerman) Knoy. Together they had two children, Angie and Lewie who were an honor to raise and true blessings.

Dean is survived by his wife of 41 years, Linda, children Angela (Kyle) Wilson of Pendelton, IN, Lewie (Hannah) Knoy of Cloverdale, IN, grandchildren Brailynn Wilson, Briella Wilson, Byron Wilson, Brynlee Knoy and baby Knoy (due in September); his mother Gloria (McCullough) Knoy, Brother Darrell (Jean Ann) Knoy, mother-in-law Peggy Saucerman, sister-in-law lisa Griswold; nieces, a nephew and cousins. He is also survived by his INDOT family and a dear friend, Mindy Cline.

He was preceded in death by his father Duane Knoy, grandparents Arthur and Bessie McCullough and Eugene and Lilly Knoy, father-in-law Lewis Saucerman; brother-in-law Larry Griswold.

Dean loved his family and will be missed by them. He attended church while growing up and maintained a personal relationship with the Lord throughout his life.

Funeral Services for Dean will be held Thursday, July 9th, 2026 at 1:00pm, Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale.  Visitation will be held Wednesday July 8th, 2026 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at the funeral home.  Burial will follow in Mannan Cemetery. Please dress casual and if you have a John Deere hat, please wear it. Condolences may be made at www.whitakerfunerals.net
