Barbara J. (Sims) Cox

Barbara J. Cox, age 89 of Greencastle passed away August 23, 2023. She was born July 16th, 1934 to the late Verlin and Erma (Dawson) Sims.

Barbara is survived by her children Jim (Katrinka) Bassett, Nancy (Jeff) Capps, Cindy Stapert, Kenny Bassett; brother Leon Sims; Step children Darren (Kathy) Cox, Donna Cox, Linda (Larry) Cowin, Larry (Judy) Cox, and Juanita Albin; 3 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband James Bassett and husband Gene Cox; daughter Shirley Sims brothers Norman Sims, Kenneth Sims, Larry Sims; sister Betty Sample.

Funeral services for Barbara will be held at 1:00 pm Monday August 28th, 2023 at Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the service time of 1:00 pm at the funeral home. Condolences may be made at www.whitakerfuneralhome.net
